The Kulttuurisauna, which stands on the seaside in the neighborhood of Hakaniemenranta, wants to continue the tradition in a contemporary form of Finnish public saunas. The project aims to create dialogue between the sauna culture, an integral part of local life style, and use of costal urban areas. The work of Nene Tsuboi and Tuomas Toivonen, respectively designer and architect, is inaugurating a new concept of sauna, low environmental impact through the use of renewable energy, high efficiency and low CO2 emissions.
